“I take refuge in the Buddha, I take refuge in the Dharma, I take refuge in the Sangha…”
Designer Britta Ambauen says of Three Jewels,
"This necklace is inspired by the Buddhist concept of the symbolic three jewels, the three cornerstones of spiritual life. One jewel represents the Buddha, a teacher and enlightened being. Another jewel represents the Dharma, the path and the teachings themselves. The third jewel represents the Sangha, the community of students that supports the spiritual journey.
I’ve represented each jewel with a sparkling, clear quartz gemstone. The facets on the stones send light in a sparkling array, and each of the conceptual three jewels, layered with meaning, shine understanding and insight in all directions. The stones are cut with an apex at the front and back, giving them a solid, three-dimensional feel. I like to wear these jewels as a reminder of where to put my trust as I move through life and need support."
