Artist Britta Ambauen was inspired to create this representation of bodhichitta after reading Pema Chödrön's When Things Fall Apart. Says Britta, "This book introduced me to Buddhist concepts that felt both challenging and fortifying, stimulating and soothing. This lotus flower necklace is a symbol of one concept that I wish to keep near my heart." Bodhichitta describes the mind that expresses awakening, empathy, and compassion for the benefit of all sentient beings.
