"Tara in Gold" – Lasha Mutual
Lasha Mutual’s deep commitment to Buddhist theory and practice has suffused her artistic expression, giving rise to a body of work that pays homage to Buddhist deities. Among these works is a series of 108 paintings of White Tara, blending the action of painting with a meditative contemplation and focus.
Creating art, exploring Buddhist philosophy and formal meditation have all become intertwined, each aspect nurturing the others, creating a richer ability for visualization and connection during practice. Lasha hopes that her intention to cultivate a generous, peaceful, and clear mind becomes manifest in her paintings and can be shared with others.
Lion's Roar audience engagement editor Ross Nervig spoke with Lasha about her work.
