"The Dalai Lama" – Olivier Adam
Olivier Adam travels extensively with The Dalai Lama photographing public events in a candid, personal style. This photo of His Holiness was taken at the conclusion of a visit to Geneva. As Olivier says, "I was staying with him in his hotel room and took the opportunity to ask him for a personal portrait, looking directly in my direction, and that’s it, a very special gift."
Olivier Adam was trained as a physicist and gradually turned to photography. He now works as a freelance photographer and teaches in Paris at the Auguste Renoir School of Photography. He collaborated with Sofia Stril-Rever, Matthieu Ricard, and Manuel Bauer on the creation of the book: Kalachakra: A Mandala for Peace, and is a regular contributor to English and French language magazines. Olivier also works regularly for the Private Office of His Holiness Dalai Lama as official photographer during the Dalai Lama's European visits.
